A Team built on trust.

Marcus Farrell

Managing Director

Empire Construction Group & Empire Architectural Designs

Marcus has been involved in the construction industry since he was 17, firstly attending Chichester College to train in Bricklaying and then following the completion of his course to work with his Father and Uncle in the family’s building business..

After a number of years honing his skills under his Father’s guidance, he decided that site work was not for him and he wanted to own his own business and in doing so be his own boss, just as his Father did. Although, he had really decided this at an early age

Using the experience gained during the time of working on site by completing a vast variety of projects, he went ahead and set up his own company, M Farrell Construction. After a number of years, he grew to dislike the name as it was limiting, and so made the decision to “re-brand” and Empire Construction Group was formed. He chose the name because of the vision he had and still has to this day. To have all aspects of Property and Construction under one umbrella.

Marcus is very hands on, with every project the company undertakes. Project management is his forte and it is a role that he enjoys because of the joint liaison between the client and the workforce. You might even see him laying bricks from time to time, as the only real way of keeping on top of things is to be onsite.

Marcus has a young family, with the second addition only arriving in early 2017. Apart from this family his other interest is watching movies.

He became interested in the construction industry at an early age – inspired by his father, who was a carpenter. Firstly, studying for a BTEC National Diploma at Chichester College and then went on to the University of Westminster to complete in Building Surveying.

After graduating, Alex worked in London as a Building Control Officer for a Property Consultant Company under the Approved Inspector Scheme. Although, after a few years he made the decision to head back home to the South coast and joined a firm of Chartered Surveyors, Grumitt Wade / Jessey Mason which gave him the chance to make the transition from Building Surveying to Architecture.

Joining Empire Architectural Designs in Feb 2017, he has already made a positive impression with both client liaison, work ethic, production of high quality drawings and 3D renders.

Alex is a keen rower – having raced for a Shoreham based club for over 10 years, Quintin Boat Club in London, which also included competing at Henley Royal Regatta.
